Categories
Athlete – $425.00
Coach, Team Leader, Ramp Operator, Sport Assistant – $125.00
Refund Policy:
- An 85% refund (of registration fee only) prior to July 1.
- There will be NO refunds after July 2.
- All of our event expenses have already been incurred and contracted.
If a verifiable medical situation occurs, at the discretion of the Tournament, a prorated refund of the registration fee MAY occur up to 50% upon a written petition to the National Office.
Rules
We will follow the current World Boccia Rules 2025-2028 v1.1
BISFed World Boccia licensed balls are NOT required. However the balls must weigh and measure according to the rules.
The Individual Competition is combined for male and female athletes and the male/female rule is NOT required for Pairs and Team. More rule info will be in the Head Referee Letter.

Classification
All athletes that have never been to a USA Boccia Nationals or who are in a “review” status will be notified the week of July 7th. Any questions regarding classification should be directed to Dr. Kathy Brinker; HP consultant to Boccia United States at kathyb@bocciaunitedstates.org
Classification is a procedure in which medical and technical classifiers will assess your physical function and place you in a “class” or division of BC1, BC2, BC3, or BC4, which are the Paralympic classes for boccia. If you receive an “NE” and are not eligible for these classes, the athlete will then meet with the USA Boccia Assessment Team to place you in the division of BC5 or BC6 (Open).
All classifications will take place Wednesday, July 30th between 10-4 at Lakeshore Foundation 4000 Ridgeway Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209.
Once at the tournament venue, follow the signs for Classification. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. If you receive an NE from the classification team, find the signs for the Assessment Team room. Please bring a paper copy of your authorization and diagnosis forms with you for the Assessment Team.
Who needs to be classified? All new athletes to nationals, any athlete that does not have a confirmed status and is in “review”.
How do I sign up to be classified? Please complete both the authorization and diagnosis forms for classification Classification Forms – USA Boccia no later than Monday July 1st, 2025. Please scan the forms (into one PDF) and return them in an email to Dr. Kathy Brinker, kathyb@bocciaunitedstates.org. When you return the email, please ask for a window time for classification on Wednesday, July 30th, between 10 and 4 (for example, say in the email I could be available between 10-1). We will do our best to accommodate your request.
What happens next? Once your email is received, you will receive a confirmation email from Kathy (kathyb@bocciaunitedstates.org) stating your classification time and further directions for classification.
Please bring all equipment you use on court, including your competition wheelchair, scooter, etc to Classification or Assessment.
Storage
Athletes will be able to store competition equipment on site for the duration of their competition.
Locker Rooms
There are two main locker rooms at Lakeshore adjacent to the competition space, each with five accessible showers, two private changing stalls and four accessible restroom stalls. There are several other restrooms and assisted dressing room areas throughout the facility. A hoyer lift is available.
First Aid Station
First aid will be available at the venue. A certified athletic trainer will be available

Transportation
Lakeshore offers free transportation from the airport (and venue) to the four (4) Host Hotels. You must register for transportation when you register for the tournament. Your registration for the tournament and transportation, if needed, must be completed before June 30th.
Airport transportation is available ONLY from Birmingham Airport on July 29 & 30 and August 2 (after individual competition), 3 & 4
Transportation is only available if you are staying at one of the four host hotels.

If you are flying into Birmingham Airport and require transportation to your competition approved hotel, you must send your flight information (airline, flight number, day and time of arrival and departure) to Melanie Yules – myules125@gmail.com BEFORE June 30th. Once Melanie receives your email you will be contacted with further instructions.
Transportation Schedule from Hotel to Venue – If you signed up for transportation to and from the venue, your schedule will be sent the night before competition day. Lakeshore will only run shuttles in the morning to get athletes to the venue and then in the evening. Lakeshore will not be providing rides outside of the scheduled times. The schedule is also created to ensure athletes with the first round of games are transported first. Athletes will not be allowed to ride the shuttle outside of their scheduled times. Lakeshore’s transportation lead for the event will email the transportation schedule. The schedule will also be posted at the venue as well as at the four competition hotels where transportation is being provided.
Host Hotels
Please note that the four (4) properties listed as Host Hotels have a limited number of accessible rooms but the hotels have held as many rooms as possible for our event. The room types at each property are generally described below. Additionally, Lakeshore has 16 roll-in showers, and a Hoyer lift available at the venue. Many adaptive sports use these facilities on a regular basis during tournaments.
